Brandon Halverson  G 3eme ronde

History

2010-11: Brandon Halverson played for the Victory Honda bantam AAA team in Michigan and was invited to USA Hockey's Warren Strelow National Goaltending Camp in May 2011.

2011-12: Halverson played for the Little Caesars U16 midget team in Michigan. In 20 games for Little Caesars he was 6-10-2 with 1 shutout and had a 3.09 goals against and .897 save percentage. Halverson was selected by Sault Ste. Marie in the seventh round (127th overall) in the 2012 OHL Priority Draft.

2012-13: Halverson attended OHL camp with the Greyhounds before joining the Oakland Junior Grizzlies U18 team in Troy, Michigan. Splitting the goaltending duties with Michael Tilford, he was 9-9-2 in 21 games and had a 2.88 goals against and .906 save percentage. Halverson started all four playoff games and was 2-1-1 with a 1.46 goals against and .953 save percentage. He participated in USA Hockey's Select 17 Camp in Rochester.

2013-14: Halverson joined the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds as a backup to 19-year-old Penguins' prospect Matt Murray in his first OHL season. Halverson was ranked ninth amongst North American goaltenders in Central Scouting's mid-term rankings prior to the 2014 NHL Draft.

Ben Thomas  D      4eme ronde


History

2010-11: Ben Thomas skated for the Calgary Northstar Sabres bantam AAA team and played for the Calgary North Stars in the 2011 Alberta Cup. He scored 1 goal with 3 assists and had 2 penalty minutes in five games at the Alberta Cup. Thomas was selected by the Calgary Hitmen in the third round (45th overall) in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.

2011-12: Thomas made the jump from bantam hockey to midget majors — skating in the Alberta Midget Hockey League with the Calgary Northstars. In 34 regular season games he scored 2 goals with 15 assists and had 46 penalty minutes. The Northstars finished third in the Chrysler Division. Thomas did not appear in any playoff games.

2012-13: Thomas skated in three pre-season games with the Hitmen before playing junior A hockey in Calgary and made his WHL debut with Calgary in the playoffs. He had no points nor penalty minutes in his only game with the Hitmen. Thomas began the season with the AJHL's Calgary Mustangs — skating in 12 games and scoring 1 goal with 4 penalty minutes — before a mid-season trade to the Calgary Canucks. In 32 games with the Canucks he scored 4 goals with 3 assists and had 33 penalty minutes. The Canucks finished last in the South Division.

2013-14: Thomas spent his first WHL season with the Calgary Hitmen. He was selected to play for Team Orr in the 2014 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.

Aaron Haydon  D   7.0D      5eme ronde

History

2010-11: Aaron Haydon attended USA Hockey’s Select 14 Festival in July before skating for the Belle Tire ’96 bantam team that captured the 2011 U14 national championship.

2011-12: Haydon participated in USA Hockey’s Select 15 Development Camp and skated for Belle Tire’s midget major U16 team. In 40 regular season games he scored 2 goal with 9 assists and 93 penalty minutes. He scored 3 goals with 3 assists and had 28 penalty minutes in seven playoff games. Haydon was selected by Niagara in the first round (20th overall) of the 2012 OHL Priority Draft.

2012-13: Haydon made the jump directly from midget minor hockey to major junior; skating for the OHL’s Niagara IceDogs as a 16-year-old. He played 42 regular season games — scoring 4 goals with 6 assists — and was -7 with 39 penalty minutes. Niagara finished fourth in the Central Division and lost to Oshawa in a first round playoff series. Haydon appeared in three playoff games and was -1 with 1 assist and 2 penalty minutes.

2013-14: Haydon returned to Niagara for his second OHL season after skating for the USA U18 team at the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament in August. He had no points and was +1 with 10 penalty minutes in five games for the USA at the Ivan Hlinka Tournament. Haydon was named to the 2013 CCM/USA All-American Prospects Game and selected to Team Orr for the 2014 BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.
